The Legal Aid Programme (Prison Visit and Outreach Project). Funny on how we finally wrapped up this programme. EPIC. Keluar masuk penjara Sg.Buloh, ke penjara Kajang untuk bagi khidmat nasihat guaman. Banyak yang kena belajar.. undang-undang hanya satu bahagian.. and PR skills is another part. Especially when dealing with juvenile.. when they tell you their side of the story.. their version of incident. Well, it is really up to you to finalize. To believe in the stories and everything. REALLY UP TO YOU. Ada yang nak keluar.. katanya gila kalau duduk lama-lama. Tapi ada yang kata dunia sebenar lebih gila. Lebih parah dari yang didalam sana. Jadi di mintanya hukuman penjara lama-lama. Pelik..kan?
Under normal circumstances, there are several crucial questions that I have to ask. Like..the facts of the case etc etc. Aku teringat ada satu banduan. Nama..entah. Aku lupa. Cuma yang aku ingat..muka, dan cerita. He's been charged under Section 376 of the Penal Code.. which is rape. (It was consented actually but he did it with a girl underage.) During the interview session, when the question about the facts of the case was directed to him, what he did was.. he looked at me and smile. He opened up a note book he carried before him and instructed me to read it. Which I did as I need to know the facts for my case.
Guess what?
The book is full with details on how he did and how it happened. Every single detail that I can tell.. he's very VERY VERY meticulous. Imagine, I'm a girl sitting in front of him.. and I have to read one obscene material regarding his sexual activities, and he's looking at me smiling all the way through. At that time I thought I would die of embarrassment. Gross.
Apart from all that, the smell, the 'hyper' inmates dan warden-warden penjara yang gatal.. like Wawa said.. nasi lemak penjara sg.buloh is to be remembered.
p/s: Incik, lihat blazer itu! Familiar tak? Haha. Thank you.
